Description

The purpose of the course is to provide doctoral students with an in-depth understanding of predictive memetics and its applications within social science. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills in predictive modeling and data analysis, the course aims to equip participants with the tools required to effectively analyze and predict the spread of cultural traits in various contexts.

The course will be given in English and is a hybrid course.

The course consists of two parts. The first part includes two lectures to introduce the subject of predictive memetics and the methods used in predictive modeling. These will be held 17/9 and 23/9 at IAS in Norrköping and online. The latter part consists of a submission assignment that can be conducted both in groups and individually. During the second part of the course, methods in predictive memetics will also be taught continuously through active guidance of the submission work. This part does not have a fixed schedule but timeslots for guidance will be allocated as needed by the groups/students.
