Description

The main focus of the course is to encourage students to adopt good writing practices and to provide them with the means to lay a solid foundation upon which their future work can be based. Emphasis will be placed on clarity, coherence, and cohesion, and on structuring texts in accordance with the different audiences and genres which can be encountered. Presentation techniques will also be addressed and practiced.

Upon completing this introductory part of the course, students are expected to demonstrate a basic understanding of academic writing structure and its epistemic relevance to knowledge production, as well as some writing techniques. Additionally, they will complete an introductory text that serves as the foundation for developing a future paper submission.

You will prepare to apply writing techniques effectively to:

  1. Identify a relevant research problem.
  2. Relate this research problem to pertinent academic research areas.
